Oh, yes, today's definitely one of my "I'm-in-a-romantic-mood-tra-la-la" days.
The notes slip into my ear,
Wistful, romantic and fascinating.
Into my heart, you drive a spear,
With that scorching look;
Can't you see I'm hyperventilating?
You sweep me away for a dance,
Just one, you say, but I know -
If it's just one waltz, by chance,
Will we be slipping away?
No, we will come back for more.
In and out of the dancing couples
We move gracefully - or we try to.
I forget all my misery, my troubles,
As your arms hold me close.
I lose myself in your eyes so blue.
We match, we move in perfect rhythm,
The music in our souls blend and sync.
We've got no rules, no laws, no algorithm
Of how to go about this.
But we belong - I've found love, the true link.
The waltz is over, but the music still lingers,
In the air around me, and in my heart.
I touch your cheeks with trembling fingers,
My eyes are filled with tears.
You're my everything, the end, the start.
With a ruffle of my hair, a tweak of my nose,
You bring the magic of it all back again.
With just a box of chocolates, or a blood-red rose,
You steal my silly romantic heart;
And the waltz begins to play, once again.
