Funny, people like me,
Spending all their youth
To save only money.
Taking no time to soothe
Their burning needs.
Working away, all day,
Partying, getting drunk
Once they're done.
Their world's small, shrunk,
Lots of work, little fun.
An obsession with perfection,
Unattainable, unrealistic,
Stains all their efforts.
Getting stressed, weak, sick,
Yet diving into it all, head first.
Looking only for picking
Up the ripest, plumpest berries;
If you look only for goldmines,
You'll have time only for worries,
And bugs and strict deadlines.
Important things take a back seat;
So what of little pleasures,
Like being one of good health,
And being happy, for good measure?
There's more to amass than just wealth!
