THE MAN WHO WON'T LAUGH

I need a man who --

Won't laugh at my pathetic jokes
That I make on myself,
Before someone else pokes
Fun at me.

I need a man who --

Won't believe my false smile,
Looking at just a show of teeth --
He'd care to look into my eyes
To find the tears beneath.

I need a man who --

Won't laugh
At me,
Or even cough,
When others tease;
He'll be the one
Who sees
I'm not enjoying the joke;

I need a man who --

Won't even smile
At others,
All the while
They tease me;
He's the one
Who'll not be
Just another dumb bloke.

Don't know why, but I kind of like this rhyme. Maybe because it's all true. :)

Very good one ... enjoyed reading it and even tried composing a music to this lyric :) but me being me, did not succeed in composing a good tune :)
